Outlook 2016 hangs on updating inbox
Things work well for a number of days or weeks but the problem reoccurs eventually.
Outlook Web App works fine while this problem is occuring.
It would just wait there for maybe 15 minutes then any new emails waiting would come in. Strange thing is, it only happens when the inbox is selected. If you see a lot of Conflicts or Failures this is the case.
If I select any other folder (including sub-folders of the inox) the status is up to date. Move all the emails from the Inbox into another folder. If the inbox is empty but still exhibits the probem then the email is orphaned and invisible to the GUI. If the inbox does sync correctly your bad email is in the folder you moved the inbox emails.
The migration went relatively smoothly, but I am running into an issue where a few people are having intermittent Outlook 2010 client connectivity issues.
They will open up Outlook in the morning, it will say "Connected to Microsoft Exchange" and "Updating inbox" or "Updating this folder", but new emails will not be downloaded.
If you can't find a dialog box open, move on to the next step.
Now when Outlook is open, theres a message in the status bar "waiting to update this folder".
Microsoft is conducting an online survey to understand your opinion of the Technet Web site.
If you choose to participate, the online survey will be presented to you when you leave the Technet Web site.
It will stay this way indefinitely, with a notification that the folder was last updated the previous day or whenever the last time they had used Outlook was.
Turning off cached Exchange mode works, but the connection seems to be spotty as Outlook will freeze up after a while.
Or does Outlook hang, freeze, or stop working when you're opening a file or sending an email message?
